I find when I am struggling the most in my life such as feeling anger or not wanting to do something and even unhappy with change, that this is where I am resisting the most and what I need to currently work on. When you find yourself in a situation that you’re unhappy, or feeling frustrated, these are the situations that are coming up in your life as an opportunity in order for you to learn and grow.
I had a situation come up recently in my life where I was expected to do some things that I did not want to do. I had some anger and frustration with the situation for a few days before I realized that this situation has come into my life in order for me to go deeper and look at what I am resisting, and ask myself, what triggers are surfacing for me, and what am I to learn here. One thing I came up with is that I don’t always like change. It also brings up old emotions of being told to do things that I didn’t want to do. To be honest I was feeling powerless.
This situation brought me to the realization that you can’t always control your environment or situations that you are in, but you can choose how you react to them. Are you going to resist them? Or are you going to go deep and figure out how to work with the situation.
There are so many obstacles that come into our life from day to day and yes they are frustrating, saddening, and hurtful at times. It is when we learn to step back and stop resisting and allow ourselves to become heart centered by going within and realizing that we can’t always change a situation that has come up into our lives, but we can choose to work with the situation and to react to it in a much different way by broadening our perspective and recognizing the lesson that is presenting itself.
We can always be assured that change is going to happen and situations or events in our life will occur. By resisting the change, it becomes part of the problem. It is by stepping back and deciding that you are not going to let this control your emotions or bring negative feelings and thoughts into the situation or surrounding the situation. You can choose to take a more positive outlook and work with the change.
When you do this it helps with your mental state of mind as you feel more free. Free of the anger and feelings of powerlessness. You suddenly feel powerful because you are in charge, you are not allowing the situation or your emotions to be in charge of you, you choose to be in a state of acceptance and now have a chance to work through the situation. The situation may be coming into your life to help you make changes that will bring about a positive outcome in your future.
When you can start recognizing situations as an opportunity to learn and grow, this releases all resistance and you are able to work through the problem or situation. Once I came to this realization, I felt happier and lighter. I could feel the resistance lifting and I was ready to work through the change that I was resisting. Now I feel grateful for the experience as I know there will be new situations that will continue to arise for me that I can learn from.
When you become more aware of that which you are resisting, it gives you the perfect opportunity to stand in your power, release the fear and find the lesson that has been presented to you.
